Globally, football remains the most popular of all sports. Widespread interest in the game as well as involvement - through participation and spectating, means it continues to lead the way, with an estimated 270 million people involved worldwide (Conmebol 2013). In England; the birthplace of the sport, exponential growth in interest means around 20% of all adults play football regularly (The FA 2015). Furthermore, in places where it is not the most popular sport; take for example the U.S.A, it is continuing to increase in popularity.

In the United States, a precipitous rise in young persons’ involvement has seen the number of registered US youth players surpass three million (US Youth Soccer 2015). In Australia, the game has seen rapid growth over a short period of time, and has surfaced as the most engaged in activity, surpassing more traditional and indigenous sports. A 2015 survey showed almost three times as many Australians play association football than play Australian Rules football (Herald Sun 2015).
Football is not only massive in the sense of a practise but also as a spectator sport through live football. In addition to the physical engagement, spectating figures are blossoming: The Women’s 2015 Football World Cup final drew more live television viewers in the United States of America than the prestigious Ice Hockey Stanley Cup finals and even the NBA finals (Forbes 2015).
It is suggested that teams wishing to increase the team identification and attendance frequency of these management‐centric consumers should use technology to establish a platform whereby dues‐paying members vote on team‐related management issues. Utilizing a members‐only webpage for some votes will encourage the growth of a geographically diverse fan base, while utilizing in‐stadium hand‐held wireless technology for other votes will encourage game attendance.

United fans have undertaken the sole duty to involve fans in decision making by voting on issues pertaining to the betterment of the supported teams. There can be a deliberation on which coach to choose and players to buy within the year so as to satisfy wants of the fans. All what most fans need is to get some limpidity in the affairs of the team.
